I teach every academic year two courses: Introduction to Political Science (POL.102) and the political science Master’s Thesis Seminar (POL.VO.399). In addition, I teach every year optional courses linked to my research. In fall 2025 the courses are an introductory course on the EU and a course on the Europarties. I also teach the introductory course on the EU at the University of Helsinki. The introductory courses on political science and the EU are both challenging and rewarding to teach, as they involve a lot of preparatory work and the objective is to motivate students to acquire more in-depth knowledge of politics and various political systems.
At the doctoral level I am in charge of the political science research seminar and currently supervise around 10-15 PhD students. Please get in touch if you are interested in pursuing political science doctoral studies in Tampere.
During academic years 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2024-2025 I was chosen by our students as the best teacher in the Degree Programme in Politics, and in 2018 and 2022 I was honoured to receive the same award at the level of the Faculty of Management and Business.
